Regulation 18

Consultation on the Regulation 18 Draft Dover District Local Plan ran from the 20th of January to the 17th of March 2021.

As part of the consultation on the Draft Local Plan we also invited comments to be made on the Sustainability Appraisal, Habitats Regulation Assessment, Draft Economic Growth Strategy and the Draft Open Space, Playing Pitches and Play Areas Strategies. In addition to holding a targeted call for sites

In total, we received approximately 3,400 comments from 1280 individuals/organisations on the draft Local Plan.

All the representations made during the consultation have been processed and uploaded onto the Council’s Consultation Portal and are available to view here ( )

How to view comments:

  • Click on "LEARN MORE" on the relevant consultation (eg: Regulation 18 Consultation on the Draft Dover District Local Plan)
  • Select "WHAT PEOPLE SAY" at the top of the page under the title of the consultation. 
  • Click on the eye icon at the start of each consultation point or in the contents panel on the left to view comments on that part of the plan.

Next Steps...

We are currently reviewing all the comments made, and deciding what changes will be needed, to address issues that have been raised. We are also updating the evidence base to support the Plan and carrying out an assessment of sites submitted through the targeted call for sites.

The next opportunity to comment on the Local Plan will be the Regulation 19 Public Consultation on the Pre-Submission Version of the Draft Local Plan.
